Double-blind Study of Topical Piroxicam gel 0. 5% in Management of Acute Musculo-Skeletal Disorders

Abstract
|
|
|
A double-blind, comparative trial in two groups of each thirty patients- with topical piroxicam gel, 0.5% and placebo was carried out suffering from acute musculoskeletal disorders for efficacy and tolerability.
This study was a double-blind, randomized, parallel study applying piroxicam gel 0.5% and the matching placebo in two groups on the area of tenderness twice a day in the morning and evening every day throughout the study with maximum duration of 15 days.
The results in the study analized with clinical evaluation and statistical tests suggest that topical piroxicam gel 0.5% was superior to placebo in therapeutic effect.
During treatment with piroxicam gel 0. 5% it appears to be well tolerated in all cases without any side effect.
